At dark, June 21, 2008 we will have the 2nd annual fireworks display for the City of Newport to celebrate our families, our heritage, and our city. The display will be best viewed from the downtown area (especially Front Street.) There will be other activities for people in Newport that day sponsored by the ministerial alliance. Fireworks displays always draw big crowds and after the success of last year’s display we expect an even bigger number of people to come and watch.
This a non-profit activity for the citizens of Newport and Jackson County.
What we need is the support of individuals and businesses to make this the biggest fireworks display ever for the City of Newport and Jackson County. The goal is to make the display bigger every year than the year before and eventually the largest in our part of the state. Please become a sponsor for this event with your generous donation. The goal this year is $8,000.00. However, the more we have to work with the more spectacular the display.
